Electrode-type steam humidifier (entire unit)

It won't dry-burn and has excellent safety. <br/> Low initial cost and high cost-effectiveness. <br/> Isothermal humidification—no preheating of air required, and complete sterilization achieved. <br/> Supports multiple voltage ranges from 230V to 690V (optional). <br/> Municipal tap water is sufficient, saving on water treatment costs. <br/> Precise precision control not only extends the service life of the humidification tank but also accommodates a wide range of water qualities.

If the relative humidity of the air is too low, the adhesion of the paint will decrease. On the other hand, if the relative humidity is too high, the glaze layer sprayed onto the product may become excessively diluted, forming tiny liquid bubbles. As these bubbles evaporate during drying, they can lead to poor spraying results and the formation of fine pits on the sprayed surface.

Product Description

If the relative humidity of the air is too low, the adhesion of the paint will deteriorate. On the other hand, if the relative humidity is too high, the glaze layer sprayed onto the product may become excessively diluted, forming tiny liquid bubbles. As these bubbles evaporate during the drying process, they can lead to poor spraying results and the formation of fine pits on the sprayed surface. We must listen carefully to and thoroughly understand our customers’ needs, then meet those needs and even exceed their expectations—this is “Ren.” We strive relentlessly to maintain the highest product quality and continuously introduce innovative new products, creating greater value for our customers, becoming the most innovative enterprise, and earning widespread acclaim as a supplier in the markets we serve—this is “Jie.”

Working principle

1. Principle

(1) Water exists in three states: solid, liquid, and gaseous. In the humidification industry, the goal is to use external energy to convert liquid water into vapor and then deliver the vapor to the space that requires humidification by means of external force.

(2) When water exists in its pure form, it is non-conductive. The reason why tap water—commonly used in daily life—is conductive is that it contains a large amount of mineral salts. The operating principle of electrode-type steam humidifiers relies precisely on water’s conductivity.

(3) When water containing mineral salts enters the humidification tank through the inlet valve, the electrode plates at the top of the tank gradually become submerged as the water level rises. Since water containing mineral salts is a conductor, once the water comes into contact with the electrode plates, a conductive path is established. At this point, by applying a voltage to the electrode plates, ions in the water will move rapidly, generating thermal energy and causing the water to heat up and produce clean, saturated steam. This steam is then delivered into the air-conditioning unit or ductwork via a steam diffusion device, thereby achieving the purpose of humidifying the air.

(4) According to the Joule effect, steam production is proportional to the current, and consequently also proportional to the water level. This current is measured using a current transformer. By repeatedly cycling the inlet and outlet valves on and off, the water level, current, and steam production can be precisely adjusted.

(5) During evaporation, the water level will drop; however, the steam does not carry away the mineral salts dissolved in the water. As a result, the concentration of mineral salts in the water increases, which in turn raises the water’s electrical conductivity. Once the current reaches the upper limit set by the microprocessor control, the drain valve will discharge the highly concentrated water and then be refilled with fresh water via the inlet valve, thereby diluting the solution and protecting the humidification tank. Over time, scale buildup will accumulate on the electrode plates, obstructing the contact between the electrodes and the ions in the water and thus affecting the humidification efficiency. Therefore, the humidification tank must be regularly cleaned and the electrodes replaced periodically.

Product Features

(1) Precisely controlled by a microcomputer and equipped as standard with an LCD display operator for convenient operation, setting, and display.

(2) It can accept controller signals as well as sensor signals; it can accept digital signals as well as proportional signals.

(3) Optionally equipped with remote monitoring functionality, it provides three sets of dry contacts for remote alerting functions such as start/stop control, humidifier tank maintenance, and fault diagnosis.

(4) Equipped with fault diagnosis functionality, the standardized fault diagnosis program continuously monitors operating conditions and displays the results in code format. This enables users to reduce costs and expenses associated with fault repair and cleaning.

(5) Real-time feedback on steam production, operating current, control signals, demand percentage, automatic scheduled maintenance alerts, and humidifier tank replacement alerts.

(6) Variable output control, with the output adjustable down to 20%.

(7) Highly scalable—can be paralleled with up to seven units.

(8) High-level alarm and anti-overflow design.

(9) The humidifier tank is made of specially engineered plastic that is resistant to high temperatures, aging, and flame retardant as well as scale inhibition (optional). Combined with the system’s automatic drainage and cleaning function, this design significantly extends the service life of the humidifier tank.

(10) To facilitate installation and maintenance, the front and both sides of the unit have been specially designed to be removable, allowing direct access to the unit’s core structure and circuitry.

Scope of application

Application industries: hospitals, pharmaceutical manufacturers, printed circuit boards, liquid crystals, optoelectronics, semiconductors, offshore platforms, ships, nuclear power, aerospace, and military industries, among others.

Considerations for Choosing an Electrode-Type Steam Humidifier

(1) Isothermal humidification offers rapid response and easy control, enabling precise regulation.

(2) It provides complete sterilization, is free of dirt and white powder, which is why hospitals all use electrode humidification.

(3) Small in size, easy to install on-site, and space-saving.

(4) High humidification output and high absorption efficiency, capable of achieving relatively high humidity levels.

(5) Since electrode-type steam humidifiers rely on ions in the water to conduct electricity, there is no current flow when there is no water present, eliminating any possibility of dry-running. Therefore, they offer exceptional safety—a factor that has led all domestic and international manufacturers of constant-temperature and constant-humidity equipment to adopt electrode-type steam humidifiers.

(6) Use pure water that does not require water treatment—municipal tap water will suffice, eliminating water treatment costs.
