Working principle
(1) The thermal energy generated by passing an electric current through a resistor is used to heat pure water, producing steam. The steam is then distributed throughout the air-conditioning unit or ductwork via a steam distribution pipe to humidify the air.
(2) Its primary operating mode involves the control box activating single or multiple sets of electromagnetic relays or SCR silicon-controlled rectifiers according to the humidification demand, thereby controlling the heat output of the electric heating tubes to generate the required amount of humidification.
(3) The electric heating tube is the core component, and its stability, service life, and reliability are extremely important.
(4) The manufacturing method of electric heating tubes involves evenly distributing high-temperature resistance wires in the central position inside a high-temperature-resistant stainless steel tube. The gaps around these wires are densely packed with crystalline magnesium oxide powder, which boasts excellent thermal conductivity and insulation properties. This structural design not only secures the resistance wires in place but also ensures high thermal efficiency and uniform heat distribution. When an electric current passes through the high-temperature resistance wires, the resulting thermal energy is conducted via the crystalline magnesium oxide powder to the surface of the metal tube. From there, the heat is transferred through thermal conduction and thermal convection, ultimately heating pure water to produce steam and humidifying the air.
Product Features
(1) The electric heating tube is made of imported Inconel material, with nickel and chromium contents as high as 30% and over 20%, respectively. It features excellent corrosion resistance, high-voltage resistance, high-current resistance, and a long service life.
(2) By leveraging the preheating function inherent in phase-controlled SCR power regulators and their control systems, it is not only possible to achieve linear proportional control of steam output, but also to attain a control accuracy of up to ±1% RH.
(3) Multiple overheat protection features to prevent dry burning.
(4) Leakage current, short-circuit, and overcurrent protection allow for early detection of electric heaters with quality abnormalities, thereby preventing potential accidents. These features also enable verification of the manufacturing quality of electric heaters, resulting in exceptionally high safety.
(5) Using pure water can significantly reduce maintenance requirements, or even eliminate the need for maintenance altogether.
(6) Since pure water can be used, the steam generated can meet hygienic requirements to the greatest possible extent.
(7) The water surface skimmer removes mineral impurities that float on the water’s surface, preventing water contamination from being released along with the steam.
Scope of application
Laboratories with high precision requirements, operating rooms with stringent hygiene standards, hospitals and food processing plants, as well as physical facilities with an ample supply of on-site purified water (deionized water), etc.
Considerations for Choosing an Electric Steam Humidifier
(1) If there is excess purified water available on-site, using purified water for humidification can reduce or even virtually eliminate maintenance costs.
(2) Thanks to the use of pure water, there’s no need for frequent water intake and drainage. Moreover, by leveraging the phase-controlled SCR power regulator and its built-in preheating function, this system not only achieves linear proportional control of steam output but also attains a control accuracy of ±1% RH. Therefore, it is ideally suited for applications requiring high precision, such as laboratories.
(3) Among currently available humidification methods, the electric heating steam humidifier (using SCR) is the one that can achieve a humidity control accuracy of ±3% RH or better.
(4) Isothermal humidification, complete sterilization, and the use of pure water make this system suitable for environments with particularly high hygiene requirements, such as operating rooms.
